Douglas Okada

Douglas Okada, born on July 25, 1984, in Araraquara, SP, demonstrated a natural talent for drawing from an early age, which was quickly recognized by his family. In 1999, he began studying oil painting at Marcelo Miura's studio, where he acquired the basic foundations of the technique. In 2002, he enrolled in the Art Education course at Faculdade São Luís de Jaboticabal-SP. During this period, he began teaching painting and drawing classes in his own studio and participated in several exhibitions and art shows throughout Brazil.
Okada’s talent goes beyond precision in drawing and color; he is constantly seeking creative thinking and developing a timeless work. His work takes on a new dimension by exploring the effects of light and the simplification of forms, providing an immediate visual impact to the viewer. The fusion of traditional drawing with a contemporary treatment of color distinguishes his work in the art market.
Always willing to innovate, Okada is not afraid to explore new forms of expression in each creation. Having won awards in several art shows, his works are part of important private collections, museums and art galleries in Brazil and abroad. In addition to giving workshops and lectures on the oil on canvas technique, in recent years Okada has served as a juror in several art shows.
